Edmonds Marina Jetty |
Location: Find the Edmonds Oil Dock and you've found the jetty. As you're facing the water on Marina Beach, (the official name of the city park where the oil dock is) the oil dock is on your left and the jetty on your right. |

| Description: The "jetty" is actually the breakwater rocks surrounding the marina in Edmonds. Enter the water at the southwest corner (closest to the oil dock) and swim around the corner of the breakwater rocks towards the underwater park (north). There is a beacon light on the rocks, swim past it a little ways and then descend. If the vis is good and the water calm, there is a lot of life right around the rocks themselves. This part is only about 14ft deep at high tide, so you can get a lot of bottom time in one dive just hanging around the jetty itself. If not, descend and follow the bottom in a 45 degree angle NW to the breakwater rocks. Around 30-40fsw and you'll find a pile of rocks scattered down the slope that look like they fell off the jetty or were dumped when it was built. Continue north, the rock pile ends and you'll find a large pipe about 15ft long, sticking out of the bottom at an angle, with the end about 3ft off the bottom. Keep going north and you'll find a second rock pile. I've gotten some nice pics of scarlet anemones and Christmas anemones at this site. - Greg Goebel |

| Reviews: Strong currents. Divers have been known to get carried as far as a quarter mile out to sea here. Be sure to dive at slack. Even when the current is at slack, I've noticed that it's either working against you when you swim out, and with you for the trip in, or vice-versa. (I would much rather dive the former). The direction most likely has to do with ebb and flood tides, but I didn't take notes when I dived it to be able to predict which way it's going on ebb and flood. The current is strongest right at the corner where you first enter, as it goes around the bend of the breakwater rocks. Also watch out for floating debris such as logs being tossed around by the waves near the rocks. Reviewed by: Greg Goebel |
